Clean, quiet and nice grounds but old and dated motel rooms. No wifi.
I do love this place, have been coming for many, many years. HOWEVER - we always stay in unit 1 and it is disheartening to find the same old stained chair, and old hide-a-bed that I sleep on every year. It is almost as old as I am! Would it hurt to upgrade the furniture little by little. I think 20-30 years for a hide-a-bed warrants a replacement by now? Also, possibly some hand rails by the toilet and shower for aging customers? And speaking of shower, how about cleaning out the mildew. I LOVE there is a kitchenette as we do like to cook some meals here. It's great having a stove top, refrigerator and microwave, however with one small frying pan and one kettle that is a little difficult to do. I would hope that before opening in the spring, a thorough check of the kitchenette, meaning changing the shelf paper once every ten years and wiping out the cupboards and utensil drawers (I don't mind doing my own dishes but others are not as careful). And what about those blinds? Has anyone checked to see if they have been cleaned? Very grimy! It is a great place, it is a shame that these few details are diminishing my enthusiasm to return next year.

Roadside motel with basic amenities. No cable, poor cell reception, wifi limited to office only; kitchenettes, rowboats, pool, swings, & serene setting. Enjoyment depends on how much you like unplugging & getting back to basics - if you have grown accustomed to a life of high speed technology, be sure to download what you can ahead of time.
Where do I start?? Lets see, I watched as they DID NOT CHANGE THE SHEETS on the bed for a week stay only re positioned them on the bed!! (thank god my child was using a sleeping bag and I had brought my own blankets) The room was INFESTED with what appears to be BODY LICE!!! It looked as it had NOT BEEN VACUUMED in over a year, the hot water takes forever to get and the water pressure leaves something to be desired.... As well the fire pit is located rather oddly... And lets not forget that they put up rules of pets but do not enforce them... (you can walk by rooms that OBVIOUSLY have dogs unattended in them) The staff is so sweet, makes you wonder why this place is so yucky!!! I can only hope I do not ever have to stay there again!!!!
